Ruellia humilis (WILD PETUNIA)

Ruellia is a great plant for hot sunny spots or part sun. It is fine with crummy soil and flowers continually from July through August. The structure of the plant stays low to the ground if planted along, but will reach up and through taller plants to get some sun. The seed head ripens into a sling-shot of a structure able to propel its seeds 10' for more. Cool trick, Ruellia! A lovely plant and great for home gardens.
