Anemone virginiana (TALL THIMBLEWEED)
bloom Jun-Aug | height 3’ | part-sun to shade
A great species for shade areas, the stem and flower create a nice structure in the garden. Plant Anemone in groups of 5 or more and repeat if your garden size allows. Seed head ripens into an attractive (maybe a little odd...in a good way) puff ball of cotton-like material.
Plants that grow well with Anemone: Allium canadense var. Lavendulare (showy wild garlic), Carex rosea (rosy sedge), Eurybia macrophylla (big-leaved aster)
