Symphyotrichum oblongifolium (AROMATIC ASTER)

Aromatic aster is an easy plant to grow and in the right hot sunny spot, it will produce a beautiful cloud of blue-purple flowers. Tuck it in around edges or plant as an accent flower with sedges for a more stylized appearance. This species tends to bend toward the sun and can appear almost like a groundcover at times.

Plants that grow well with aromatic aster: Symphyotrichum oolentangiense (sky blue aster), plains oval sedge (Carex brevior), Eragrostis spectabilis (purple love grass).
