JACOB'S LADDER (Polemonium reptans)
bloom Apr-May | height 1’ | part to full-shade
One of the things we love most about Jacob's ladder is its foliage —the compound leaves are just so beautiful. Play with this texture and it in with finer leaved sedges. The flowers are blue-purple in color which makes them easy targets for early season bees which see mainly in blues, greens and ultraviolet light.
Plants that grow well with aromatic aster: Symphyotrichum oolentangiense (sky blue aster), plains oval sedge (Carex brevior), Eragrostis spectabilis (purple love grass).
