Asclepias speciosa (SHOWY MILKWEED)

There are many milkweeds, but the flower on Asclepias speciosa is really something else. It resembles a sea anemone or cluster of many starfish —truly spectacular.

Plants that grow well with showy milkweed: Tradescantia ohiensis (Ohio spiderwort), Penstemon digitalis (foxglove beardtongue), Sporobolus heterolepis (prairie dropseed)
